BARASSI (6) is a leader who spelled off a 4.5L Maiden win at the Gold Coast. He was expected to win at Eagle Farm first-up in a CL3 but was knocked off late beaten 2L. He's since won a Doomben trial by almost 5L and a gun hoop sticks from that. The promising galloper has the early speed to make short work of the awkward barrier and is the one to beat. MAJESTIC BOOM (3) spiked his figures again winning the 68 at Eagle Farm. Drops back 1 ½f but he's been freshened and another win can't be ruled out. DEVASTATING (1) peaks for the premier yard and is close to a win. Finds a bit easier and is still shy of his best. The barrier is a niggle but Maloney is a key jockey switch. LIBERTY STEPS (7) comes out of the same 78 at Eagle Farm and finished ahead of the above. He always puts in and will also be finishing hard. LA BOQUERIA (10) can build on the 62 win this grade and trip.
