SOLAR APEX (5) was ridden closer to the pace but folded under a big weight over this course and distance last Saturday. Jack Bruce has tinkered with his gear today. Handy gelding on his day and with the big weight drop he can bounce back to form. FIFTH POSITION (4) appreciated the drop in grade and the addition of blinkers when edged out over the mile here a fortnight ago. Cherry-ripe after three runs back and maps beautifully from the nice gate. OSTERMEIER (6) has been outclassed in his last couple of runs after an impressive first-up win in a Class 6 over the mile here. Keen on his chances on a seven-day back-up. LATELY (8) came with a powerful finish to score here at this distance last start. Big step up in grade but he is progressing well and drops 5kgs after the allowance. BASARWA (10) was back in form last time out and can sneak into the frame despite taking on better opposition here.
